big things.

December is a big month in my family. My birthday is the 20th, there is Christmas, my son’s birthday on the 30th, and then New Year’s Eve. This year there was a lot of extra: a trip to Disney World to celebrate my birthday and my 10th wedding anniversary to Adam, still transitioning into my new job, lots of parties at said new job, and milestones in my first ever experience being a published author!

Needless to say, it’s been busy, stressful, yet absolutely lovely. I’m falling into a routine at my job, which I generally enjoy (my team is amazing, even if I’m bratty, like I was today). While I was at Disney, I succumbed to the cold that had been threatening me for more than a month. My immune system was no match for hundreds, if not thousands, of coughing children.

I’m very happy to be going into a four day mini-break. I’m happy that I’ll get to sleep in three of the four days. And I’m excited to celebrate Christmas with my boys and kitty cats. I plan for it to be a total pajama day, calling loved ones (hi Mommy!) and binge watching The Good Place.

But it will be back to reality soon enough. I think I’m ready?

It’s time for a reset of sorts. I’m not one to make hardcore resolutions, but I do like to set intentions. And the beginning of a new year is such a good time to try things out. No need to jump right in, though. It’s OK to test the waters in a non-judgmental way. So that’s my plan.

One of my intentions for 2019 is to figure out a better work-life balance. There is so much I want to manifest, but I keep loading myself up with work. I have a lot of fear. But there are blessings on the other side of that fear. I simply have to push through.

Lots of plans for this site, my book, and more! I hope you stick with me as this little place on the web continues to grow and evolve. I’m so excited to share everything with you. In the meantime, please follow my socials (twitter • instagram • goodreads!), and say hi! I love meeting new people.

Until next time….
